Making

Imagery and video that fit the rest

Anyone can have a picture made. The question is whether it can hang next to your own photography without it being instantly obvious which of the two came from a model. That’s where it nearly always goes wrong, and the cause is the same as with documents: no context.

In production Image generation sits as a tool in the same environment as the rest; official brand logos are never generated but used as supplied files.

The recognisability problem

Generated imagery has a flavour of its own: too smooth, too symmetrical, lit from everywhere at once. On its own that passes. Beside a real photo of your product or workshop it doesn’t — and then it costs you credibility instead of building it.

What does work

Imagery that doesn’t have to pretend to be real: backgrounds, textures, sketch-level concepts, moving material that carries an idea. And editing on material you already have — crops, clean-ups, variants for different formats. High return, low risk.

What you never generate

Other companies’ logos, faces of real people, and anything that could be read as evidence. A brand logo is an official file you use as supplied — not something you have redrawn because it happens to look about right.

Curious which of this would work for you?
